Meeney: Worthing are in a great position
Jon Meeney believes he's leaving Worthing Football Club in a much better position than when he joined.
Following Jon Meeney’s decision to step down at the end of season and discussions between him and joint-manager Gary Elphick it has been mutually agreed that he leaves with immediate effect.
Meeney informed the players at training last night of his desire to leave at the end of the season but following further discussions amongst the management team it was agreed the best thing, looking forward for all parties was to make the change now.
Elphick said: “I couldn’t have asked for a better first two years in management and Jon Meeney played a major part in that”. “Everything with Jon is completely amicable and we remain good friends; I’ve every belief that he will go on to bigger and better things”.
“I’m looking forward to ending this season in positive fashion with these last four games and have big plans going forward”.
