Free coach travel for ‘home’ games at Bognor Regis Town
Following the announcement that at least one home fixture will be played at Nyewood Lane during September, the club alongside the WFCSA are delighted to reveal plans to provide free coach travel for supporters.
The club were informed yesterday that it wouldn’t be possible to resolve the issues with the Woodside Road pitch in time for the first scheduled home fixture with Margate on Saturday 9th September.
Officials remain hopeful action can be agreed to allow the team to return to play at Woodside Road shortly however at least the Margate fixture WILL take place at The Rocks’ Nyewood Lane ground, while clarity regarding future home fixtures should be received next week.
At the WFCSA committee meeting on 14th August it unanimously agreed by members to release some funds to support the club and it was determined to use it to aid the supporters during this difficult period.
This comes in the form of free coach travel, exclusively for Worthing supporters from Woodside Road to all home league games that may be played at Bognor during September.
Chairman George Dowell is grateful for the support shown by the WFCSA: “We’re really pleased and grateful that during this difficult period for the club the supporters club members have pulled together to help”. “Everyone at the club realises playing away from Woodside Road isn’t ideal but with the offer of free travel we hope that as many supporters as possible can make it to Bognor to support the team”.
