Match Preview: Worthing vs Enfield Town

Adam Hinshelwood is in a positive mood ahead of his sides Bostik League Premier Division clash with Enfield Town on Saturday.

The Mackerel Men picked up 7 points out of 12 over the festive period and moved away from the foot of the table into 19th place during those four games which included a 4-0 thumping of Merstham on New Years Day that sent Worthing into joint third in the current form table, but Hinshelwood knows they’re in for a tough game as the visitors have faired well over their last 6 games.

Hinshelwood said, ‘Although Enfield are strong at home, they’ve only picked up two wins away from home so they will be looking to address that starting on Saturday and we have to be ready for that. We’ve trained hard this week, two good sessions, rested a few on Tuesday night after Monday’s game and the boys are ready to go.’

‘There are a few extra games this month and those that haven’t featured that often are desperate to play, it’s nice to have healthy competition for places, but they know they have to take their opportunities when they do get into the side to keep the shirt, there is a good chance those that haven’t featured recently will get a chance, it’s down to them to make the most of it and give me a selection problem, that’s what I want.’

Hinshelwood has almost a full strength squad to choose from, only loan stars Jesse Starkey and Reece Meekums will miss out but the club are keen to extend the loan of both players which expire in the next 7-14 days.

The match at the Bibby Financial Services Stadium kicks off at 3pm, admission is £10 for adults, £5 for concessions, £3 for 13-16 year olds and £1 for under 12’s.
