Match Preview: Brightlingsea Regent vs Worthing
Worthing Manager Adam Hinshelwood is expecting a tough test on Saturday as his side travel to Brightlingsea Regent in the Bostik League Premier Division.
The Mackerel Men travel to Essex in good form with only one defeat in their last six games in contrast to their hosts who have lost four of their last six matches, and Hinshelwood is expecting this to be the start of a testing next 7 days.
‘This is going to be a tough week for our young squad, a tricky test. Brightlingsea is the start of three away games in seven days and by a week Sunday we should have a clear perspective of where we lie and what we need to do. Each game will provide a different test, both our hosts on Saturday and also Kingstonian will want to win these games and increase that gap between them and us at the bottom. For them as a first season in the Premier Division, they will want to secure enough points to stay up, it’ll be a good achievement for them.’
‘As always, we will go there in good confidence, in good form and focus on us as you know we do. We will be better than last week, better defensively, more creative in front of goal.’ We’ve seen an excellent application from the players in training this week, as if some have a point to prove from last week.’
Midfielder Jesse Starkey will miss out with a foot injury although Hinshelwood is confident he will be available on Monday night before the end of his loan spell, talks are on-going for the midfielder to extend his stay at Woodside Road. Reece Meekums and Rian O’Sullivan have both returned to parent club Brighton & Hove Albion, although Hinshelwood remains optimistic Meekums will return. Ross Edwards suffered a slight setback in training and remains unavailable whilst Kieron Pamment returns after missing last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Enfield Town.
