Hinshelwood thanks travelling support

After his side completed their away campaign with a 1-0 win at Enfield Town, manager Adam Hinshelwood took the time to praise the level of travelling support the club has had over the season.

Hinshelwood’s men have found wins tough to come by on the road at time this season, winning just 6 of their 23 Isthmian League away fixtures but despite that the commitment of the away following has never wavered.

‘I think it was testament to this club’s support that so many turned up early doors to get the coach to Dulwich Hamlet on a freezing cold Sunday morning earlier in the season’. ‘Most must have been travelling in hope rather than expectation that day and even though we did eventually lose 3-0 they never stopped supporting the boys’.

‘It really doesn’t go unnoticed the amount of time and effort these people put it to support the team, the players certainly appreciate it and I think the bond is there now between this team and the fans’. ‘Every time a goal is scored they run behind the goal to celebrate with them, there’s been some great moments this year’.

Despite the relative lack of travelling success the campaign hasn’t been short of drama. Notable wins include the 2-0 victory over Needham Market in November that saw the club pick up a league win for the first time and the 15th attempt.

Just a month later Hinshelwood took his team to promotion-chasing Folkestone Invicta and an impressive display saw them come away with a 2-1 win thanks to Kieron Pamment and Jazz Rance both converting second half penalties.

A win at Leiston, another team in play-off contention was another highlight before a dramatic turnaround at Tonbridge Angels saw the the team trailing 1-0 going into stoppage time before goals from Zack Newton and substitute Ben Pope secured a memorable victory.
