Newton’s Theory – It’s time to go.
Mercurial winger, Zack Newton is the latest big name to pass through the door to the main gates at The Bibby Financial Services Stadium.
Originally from London, Zack moved back to the Capital in November and, for a brief time, turned out for Metropolitan Police, where he got moved to right-back! Upon his return he scored the winner against Wingate and Finchley on 27th January.
With nearly a century – some bookies are already taking bets he’ll be back again – of appearances for Worthing under his belt, the quick and exciting winger made his name at the Club as top scorer for our Under-21’s in 2014-15. He took this goal-scoring prowess into the first team, after initially being released in pre-season 2012. He returned with a bang off the bench against Thamesmead Town in an FA Cup tie in September 2015 and repeated the trick against Carshalton Athletic the following week for his first taste of Isthmian League football. He bagged his first Senior goal in a 4-3 thriller at Herne Bay that October, as we came out on top in a goal fest at Winch’s Field. His current total of 21 goals in 86 appearances includes 11 in 25 last campaign.
Message from Zack: “It’s been an absolute pleasure returning to Worthing FC again this season. Due to work commitments and the travel involved I will not be able to continue playing for the Rebels. I’d like to thank everyone who has shown me so much support. I’ll definitely be back at some point to complete my 100th appearance!”
