Budweiser is a long-standing supporter of football around the world. It has served as the Official Beer of the FIFA World Cup since 1986 and most recently ran a hugely successful campaign in Russia during the 2018 tournament.
Budweiser has also been active in England, being the Official Beer Partner of The FA Cup since 2012 and more recently The FA announced that Bud Light was replacing Carlsberg as the official beer partner for the England senior men’s team, marking the biggest deal in the Football Association’s history. Budweiser took on the sponsorship from the start of the 2018/19 seasons, and will play an active role investing in grassroots football initiatives. Since 2012 Budweiser has invested more than £1.3m directly into English football.
Matt Gibson, Worthing FC’s Head of Commercial Development, said: “Budweiser has been a great long-term partner across many different parts of football, so we’re delighted with this new, bigger supplier on board that will help Worthing Football Club to get to the next level – and lets not forget, their colours match ours!”
Matt concluded “Our relationship with our current provider came to its contractual end in the summer and I would like to thank them for the support and contribution they provided. Our club is growing, with an ever-increasing fan base, we need to take advantage of every opportunity. Budweiser were able to meet our aspirations and are keen to be part of our longer-term ambitions. We welcome them as a Premium Club Supplier and look forward to some exciting promotional campaigns”
