WFC: Marvin, thank you for taking the time to talk to us.
WFC: What was it that attracted you to Worthing FC?
MA: My close childhood friend David Ajiboye did well at the club last season. I watched the club play a few times last season and was very impressed. David convinced me Worthing FC is the place to be so I took his advice on board and here I am.
WFC: It’s already been mentioned you might be the new ‘Ajiboye, do you feel you have similar traits to David or is there more that you feel sets you apart from him?
MA: No, I’m Armstrong! There could be similarities whilst driving with the ball but I think that’s it. David is more about his speed, power and ability to dribble past players. I like to play deep in midfield starting attacks and breaking up play. So, small similarities but big differences in overall playing style.
WFC: What’s your impression of the abilities that you’ve seen within the squad so far?
MA: I think the standard of ability is very high, it’s a squad full of top players. Everyone seems to have a great strike in their locker!
WFC: After coming so close to the play-off’s last season, do you feel that should be the minimum aim this year?
MA: I’m yet to play in this league to know the level, but Worthing does have a squad with very good players and a great coach. He has huge ambitions this seasons that I think we can meet. So yes, minimum play-offs.
WFC: Do you set yourself personal targets and is so what are you aiming for?
MA: My target is to perform to a high standard for the majority of the season and develop further under Hinch.
WFC: Marvin, thank you very much and good luck for the season.
