The Mackerels, currently unbeaten in their last five matches, most recently battled out a 5-5 thriller with Leatherhead in the BetVictor Premier League on Saturday afternoon – four days after their victory against Hastings United in the previous round’s replay, to set the tie up today in Hertfordshire.

Meanwhile, St Albans sit 17th in the National League South division, having won two matches, drawn four and lost five, with their most recent result being a 4-1 loss at home to Weymouth.

The two sides have a previous meeting in the competition, when The Saints cruised past Worthing in the form of a 6-0 victory in the fourth qualifying round of the 2016-17 season.
