The Mackerel Men go into the match having lost their first match away from home in the division since August 2019, losing 4-3 to Leatherhead at Fetcham Grove on Tuesday which also claimed their 100% start to their league campaign.

Meanwhile, visitors Bowers & Pitsea sit top of the table having won three of their opening four fixtures – including a 7-0 victory over Worthing’s Tuesday night opponents a fortnight ago.

Last season’s only meeting between the two sides ended in a 2-1 win to Worthing at Bowers’ Len Salmon Stadium:

Goalless until the 80th minute, Reds striker Tom Chalaye broke the deadlock with 10 minutes remaining before Ollie Pearce doubled the lead in the 88th.

The hosts scored a penalty deep into injury time to half the deficit, but Worthing held out to take all three points back to the south coast.

The reverse fixture was subsequently cancelled due to the null-and-voiding of the league as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As mentioned, tomorrow afternoon’s fixture is to be played at The Camping World Community Ground match due to the ongoing maintenance at The Crucial Environmental Stadium.
