The club launched the new youth structure in September 2018 and the pair became the first players to progress all the way from under-14’s to the first team, helping them to a 3-2 win in Portsmouth.
To see everything coming into fruition so quickly is testament to the great work from all involved
Adam Hinshelwood
First Team manager Adam Hinshelwood is heavily involved in the process, combining his role with the men along with heading up the club’s youth programme.
“It’s a very proud moment!” he exclaimed.
“This is why we set up the under-14’s, 15’s and 16’s, so to see it now coming into fruition so quickly is testament to the great work from all involved”.
The club’s motivation behind the move in 2018 was to provide progressive steps for talented young players to advance up the pathway and into the First Team.
“The whole ethos and ambition of Worthing FC is to create a pathway and give opportunity to talent in the local area.”
George Dowell
Owner George Dowell has been passionate about achieving this since taking control of the club in 2016.
“The whole ethos and ambition of Worthing FC is to create a pathway and give opportunity to talent in the local area.”
“The hope is they can progress, firstly into our under-18’s, then into our First Team and potentially higher into the football league”.
“It’s an incredible achievement for both Finlay and Brad, as well as a very proud evening for the club. Here’s to many more in the years to come”
