Worthing Football Club continue their 2021-22 pre-season campaign with a short trip across West Sussex to face Selsey at The Bunn Leisure Stadium this afternoon.

The Reds go into the fixture with the Southern Combination Division One side having played a behind-closed-doors friendly away to Brighton and Hove Albion, narrowly losing by a goal to nil yesterday afternoon at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre.

Meanwhile, hosts Selsey were also defeated 1-0 in their most recent run-out at the hands of Baffins Milton Rovers last weekend.

The two sides last met in another pre-season friendly back in 2019, ending in an 8-1 victory for Worthing curtesy of hat-tricks from Lloyd Dawes and Jasper Pattenden, along with goals from Jesse Starkey and Darius Goldsmith.

This afternoon’s fixture is to be played in front of a pay-on-the-gate crowd, with the admission prices as follows:

Concessions – £2
Under-16s – Free

The Mackerel Men first home outing of pre-season comes on Tuesday when they host Three Bridges, tickets available in advance via the club’s online shop.
