5-1

The match is Worthing’s second against league-above opponents in as many games, following on from an impressive 4-1 win against Tonbridge Angels on Saturday;

A brace of penalties from Ollie Pearce, along with goals from Joel Colbran and a trialist saw the Reds cruise to victory against the Angles.

The game is set to be Worthing’s penultimate home match of a largely successful pre-season, having won six of their seven games so far, scoring 28 goals while conceding only six.

Meanwhile, visitors Welling have had a fairly miserable pre-season campaign thus far, yet to pick up a win in their last four fixtures, most recently playing out a 0-0 draw with Chatham Town on Saturday.

The Wings also found themselves bottom of the National League South after 14 games, before the campaign was declared null and void on February 21st.
