The Reds go into the fixture having progressed to the second round of the FA Trophy on Saturday, beating Southern  League Premier South side Hayes & Yeading United 3-0:

Aarran Racine opened the scoring on the stroke of half time, before Dajon Golding and Dean Cox sealed the victory with goals in the second half to set up a home tie with National League South side Dorking Wanderers on the 27th November.

Meanwhile, hosts Hornchurch are currently unbeaten so far this month, beating Haringey Borough 3-0 in their most recent run-out last Tuesday, and are also yet to concede a goal in November.

Tonight’s fixture was initially meant to be played on 5th October, but was postponed to this evening due to the home side’s then-involvement in the FA Cup, which came to an end with a 2-0 loss to Bowers & Pitsea in the third qualifying round.

Recent Meetings

The last time the two sides met was over two years ago in the voided campaign of the 2019-20 season at the Crucial Environmental Stadium, with Hornchurch running out 6-0 winners.

The result proved to be a turning point for Adam Hinshelwood’s side, who would only lose one other league game for the next five months.
