The fixture comes after a successful break from league action for the Reds, progressing to the fourth round of the FA Trophy on Saturday with a win over Chertsey Town:

Goals at the end of either half from Ollie Pearce and Dajon Golding saw a 10-man Worthing run out 2-0 winners against the Curfews despite Tyrese Mthunzi’s dismissal in the 37th minute.

The Mackerel Men return to league action top of the table with an opportunity to extend their lead to five points with a victory against the Blues tonight.

Meanwhile, hosts Wingate & Finchley also enjoyed success in the FA Trophy on Saturday, defeating Hornchurch on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

The Blues currently sit in 14th spot after 12 league games, and like Worthing, lost in a replay to Corinthian-Casuals in the FA Cup third qualifying round a month ago.

Recent meetings

The last meeting between the two sides came in the voided campaign of 2019-20 at the Crucial Environmental Stadium:

Wingate & Finchley opened the scoring, before Aarran Racine and Golding put Worthing ahead at half time.

Second half goals from Pearce and Kieron Pamment then helped the Reds cruise to a 4-2 victory despite a consolation goal for the Blues.

It proved to be the final fixture either side would play before the campaign was suspended then declared null-and-void in spite of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
