The tie is the Mackerels’ second cup match of the week, having progressed to the third round round of the Sussex Senior cup on Tuesday, brushing aside Southern Combination League Division One side Seaford Town 6-2:

Despite going behind to a Will Seager own goal, a strike from Marvin Armstrong, a brace from Tom Chalaye and a hat-trick from Mo Diallo saw the Reds cruise to victory on a cold evening at Woodside Road.

Two weeks ago, Worthing beat Hayes & Yeading United 3-0 in the FA Trophy first round to book their place in the pot, with Dorking entering the competition at this stage as one of the step two sides.

The visitors have made an impressive start to their third season in the National League South, currently sitting in 10th only seven points off top spot with a squad including former Worthing men Callum Kealy and Kane Wills.

They also narrowly missed out on a place in the FA Cup first round proper, losing on penalties in a replay in the final qualifying round to Worthing’s FA Trophy first round opponents Hayes & Yeading.

Recent Meetings

The two sides last met in Surrey during the last-completed season of the Isthmian League in April 2019:

Dorking ran out 3-0 winners and were crowned champions of the 2018-19 Isthmian Premier League.
