The Reds had originally been due to welcome Folkestone Invicta in the league that day but Invicta’s progression in the FA Trophy meant that needed to being re-arranged to allow for their tie with Uxbridge to take place.

Similarly the Rooks were left without a fixture with their scheduled opponents Cray Wanderers continued involvement in the FA Trophy.

These circumstances led to the Sussex County FA allowing special dispensation for the tie to take place a few days later than the cut off date announced for third round ties to be completed.
