Two early goals from the hosts made things difficult from the outset. Vance Bola got the first, heading home unmarked in the box, before Montel Agyemang made it two from a corner, as the away side struggled to deal with another cross.

Worthing came out the blocks with intent in the second half, but failed to score early on. The Gate capitalised on the break, Bola bagged his second on a wonderful night for Margate’s number 10.

The away side responded well and in the 64th minute Ollie Pearce headed home to bring some hope.

However, that was soon cancelled out 10 minutes later, as Margate made it 4 from a corner and a header of their own. This time from Ben Greenhalgh, as the hosts showed aerial dominance yet again.

Ollie Pearce wrapped home a second goal later on. Unfortunately, it was all too late for the visitors, who will have to pick themselves up and go again next week.
