Last week’s Sussex Senior Cup win over Lewes gave the Rebels a chance to put aside recent up and down league form during which they’ve suffered two defeats in their last 5 league outings, having been unbeaten in the previous eleven prior to that, going all the way back to August’s defeat to tomorrow’s opponents in the reverse fixture at the Crucial Environmental Stadium.

Form

As mentioned the Reds are experiencing a minor stumble in otherwise near-perfect league form but have had to negotiate a tough run of long away trips in that time and they’ll be looking to end the year on a high.

The Rocks are also stuttering of late with only one league win in their last six and have only won two of their nine home league fixtures so far this season, but will need not further incentive to improve that than the chance to complete a league double over their bitter rivals.

Previous Meetings

The Reds will be hoping to avenge the early season defeat to their rivals when second half goals from Ashton Leigh and Kayne Diedrick-Roberts sealed a 2-0 win for the away side in front of a crowd of 2,101.

The two sides last met at Nyewood Lane on New Years Day 2020 in what turned out to be a memorable afternoon for the Reds as they came away with a 3-0 win.

Team News

Experienced pair Alex Parsons and Dean Cox remain absent but Adam Hinshelwood shouldn’t have any other injury worries with the squad raring to go following a nine day rest; while he’ll welcome two new faces to the group with recent signings James Beresford and Luke Robinson both available for selection.

Key Players

Worthing’s Ollie Pearce will be desperate to add to the 22 goals he’s already amassed this season on an afternoon where he’ll be sure to get some stick from the home support.

Nathan Odokonyero is the Rocks’ main man for goals and the front man is in red hot form with 5 goals in the last 3 games.
