The Rebels travelled to Hertfordshire looking for a response, after Tuesday night’s disappointing result – away at fellow title challengers Bishop’s Stortford.
Worthing started off brightly and after a number of half-chances, Marvin Armstrong put the visitors in front, in the 21st minute. After neat footwork, the midfielder finished past Hafed Al Droubi with aplomb.
Hinshelwood’s side didn’t settle for just one. Instead they pressed high and looked for more. Top scorer; Ollie Pearce came close as he hit the post, before Reece Meekums provided some magic to double Worthing’s lead with a superb solo-strike, on the stroke of half-time.
Just as they did in the first half. The Mackerel Men dominated proceedings in the second half.
Despite so many chances, the Worthing faithful had to wait until the 80th minute, before their lead was extended. Rare goal scorer Luca Cocoracchio headed home to make it three, in a comfortable outing for The Rebels.
