The Mackerel Men maintained their 10-point lead at the top with a comfortable 3-0 win away to Potters Bar Town last weekend:

First half goals from Marvin Armstrong and Reece Meekums had the Reds in full control at half time, before an own-goal from Bar’s Calvin Dickson sealed the three points 10 minutes from time.

Meanwhile, Cheshunt defeated strugglers East Thurrock United 2-0 on Tuesday evening to keep their hopes of a playoff place alive, currently occupying seventh place, eight points behind Folkestone Invicta with two games-in-hand.

Recent meetings

The two sides met in the reverse fixture at the Crucial Environmental Stadium back in November:

Ollie Pearce opened the scoring in the 11th minute to put Worthing 1-0 up, but a first-half brace from Cheshunt’s Rowan Liburd put the visitors ahead 2-1 at the break.

The Reds then had an array of chances which went begging in the second period, and with time running out Dean Cox floated a cross into an unmarked Dajon Golding, who saw his effort crash against the crossbar and cleared by Cheshunt to inflict Worthing with then  only their third defeat of the campaign.

Supporter information

Tomorrow afternoon’s fixture is pay-what-you-like day in aid of ProstateUK, with a minimum of £1 to be paid by supporters on the gate with all proceeds going to the cause.
