The fixture is Worthing’s first of the 2022/23 season, with their last outing being in the Sussex Senior Cup final against Brighton & Hove Albion under-23s at the Amex Stadium back in May, which ended in a 4-2 defeat.
Visitors Three Bridges will be the Reds’ first opponents at Woodside Road since Brightlingsea Regent on the final day of the 2021/22 Isthmian League season back in April, when Jasper Pattenden’s goal earned Worthing a 1-0 win before being crowned league champions after the final whistle.
During the summer break, manager Adam Hinshelwood has bolstered his squad to supply the demand of the National League South, bringing in his former Seagulls colleagues Adam El-Abd and Jake Robinson alongside former club captain Kane Wills and Lewis White from Dorking Wanderers and Carshalton Athletic respectively.
Three Bridges finished 14th in the Isthmian League South East division last season, with a squad including former Mackerel Men Brannon O’Neill, Curtis Gayler and Mason Doughty.
Bridges boss Jamie Crellin is also a former Worthing man, and has recently recruited previous Rebels midfielder Kieron Pamment for the 2022/23 campaign.

The two sides met back in March in the semi-final of the Sussex Senior Cup at Culver Road:
Goals from Pattenden, Callum Kealy, Davide Rodari and a brace from Reece Meekums helped Worthing cruise to a 5-0 victory and book their spot in the final of the competition.
The sides also has a run-out against eachother in pre-season of last campaign 12 months ago at the Crucial Environmental Stadium, with the Reds running out 6-1 winners curtesy of goals fromΒ Aarran Racine, Jesse Starkey and double-strikes from Pattenden and Ollie Pearce.
