The Reds go into the fixture having played out a goalless draw away to Hungerford Town on Saturday, meanwhile visitors Oxford suffered a 3-1 defeat at League One Fleetwood Town in the Emirates FA Cup first round.

Just one place separates the sides in the table with the Rebels lying in 8th place and City just two points behind in 9th, having played a game less.

City have been operating at step 2 since 2012/13, originally members of Conference North. In 2015 they were moved to the renamed National League South.

Last season was their best at this level, eventually finished 5th and securing a place in the promotion play-offs. They overcame Eastbourne Borough in the eliminator before a 3-0 semi final defeat to Dorking Wanderers.

Form

The Hoops are on a decent run of form, picking up 11 points from their last 6 National League outings, including becoming the first team to stop Ebbsfleet United following their nine match winning run at the start of the season.

The first meeting that season ended in a 2-2 draw at Woodside Road, while City won the return fixture 1-0.

The following season the division was reorganised in North and South regions at which point the two clubs were separated.

Team News

Reds boss Adam Hinshelwood will again be without a host of first team regulars with Danny Barker, Joel Colbran and Lewis White set to continue their spell on the sidelines. Defenders James Beresford and Cameron Tutt are closer to a return.

On loan midfielder Josh Chambers will make his home debut following his arrival from Gillingham prior to Saturday’s draw in Berkshire.
