The Reds go into the fixture having edge a five-goal thriller at Woodside Road on Tuesday evening in the rescheduled clash against Tonbridge Angels:

James Beresford opened the scoring in the third minute on his return to the starting lineup, before Devonte Arnasibia levelled the scoring 10 minutes later.

The deadlock only lasted four minutes, however, as Callum Kealy put Worthing back in front in the 17th minute, before Josh Chambers double the lead midway through the first half.

The scoreline was to remain the same until injury time, when Jordan Greenidge pulled a goal back for Tonbridge to set up a nervy final few moments for the Reds, but they held out to gain all three points.

Meanwhile, visitors Chelmsford’s midweek fixture saw them progress to the fourth round of the Essex Senior Cup with a 2-0 victory over Great Wakering Rovers.

Form

After a bit of a sticky patch the Reds have returned to form of later and are unbeaten in their last six National League South outings, winning three and drawing three.

The Clarets who have been in the play-off places for most of the season have also been going well of late before an unexpected home defeat to Hampton & Richmond Borough in their last league outing. They’ve also lost just once on the road this season.
