Adam Hinshelwood’s men should be full of confidence following a superb win at Torquay United on Saturday. The 3-0 victory meant it was two wins from two at the start of the season and maybe just as significantly, two clean sheets.

The Opposition

The similarly known Rebels from Slough have had a tough start to the season, narrowly losing their opening two fixtures at Maidstone and at home to Dover at the weekend.

They finished 18th last season, just three points clear of relegation so will be hoping to start picking up points as soon as possible in their sixth consecutive season at step two.

Form

5/8 – Maidstone United (a) – Lost 2-1
12/8 – Dover Athletic (h) – Lost 2-1

Previous Meetings

Worthing visited Arbour Park twice last season, winning 3-1 in a controversial FA Cup tie in September, the home side feeling they were on the wrong end of a string of decisions from the match officials.

Later in the season the league meeting in Berkshire ended in a 1-1 draw when Josh Jackman rescued a point for 9-man Slough, who had Elliot Benyon and Joe Dandy sent off in the first half.

The spoils were also shared at Woodside Road in late October. In a game that ended 2-2, Javuan Splatt gave the Reds the lead but they found themselves trailing 2-1 after an hour but Dan Bowry’s only goal for the club secured a point.

Team News

Hinshelwood should have more-or-less the same squad to choose from that travelled to Devon on Saturday.

Liam Vincent, recently re-signed on loan from Portsmouth, went straight into the starting eleven at Plainmoor, alongside Odei Martin Sorondo.

Ollie Pearce and Reece Meekums dropped to the bench but both came on and found the net in the second half so could be pushing for a return to the starting line-up this evening.
