Racine was forced off the field during Worthing’s 2-2 draw at home to Truro City last month and the extent of his injury has now been confirmed.
The results from his scan have confirmed that Racine has injured his anterior cruciate ligament and will be out of action for the rest of this season.
Adam Hinshelwood commented, “It’s a real big blow in terms of what we’re losing on the pitch. Aarran is a player and a character that we want around the football club and we’re looking at a role where we can keep him within the club.
“He’s a lad that we want in and around the group. We want him at training and to still be our Captain and he can still give us a lot.
“He’s still really determined to get back playing, which shows what it means to him to play for this club and also the determination of him as an individual.
“It’ll be massive to keep him around to work with our youngsters because he’s a good role model for the young players to look up to”.
Everyone at the club would like to wish Aarran the best of luck in his recovery and hope to see him back on the pitch as soon as possible.
