The Robins have activated the clause in the loan deal which allows the League Two side to recall the midfielder with immediate effect.

Aguiar has starred in Adam Hinshelwood’s side this season, making 30 appearances in all competitions, scoring 12 goals and making 5 assists. His 11 National League South goals this term make him the joint-5th top scorer in the division from midfield.

The midfielder has gained attention for his spectacular finishing this season, with his goals against Littlehampton Town and Dartford springing to mind as goal-of-the-season contenders.

Aguiar celebrates his Boxing Day goal against Eastbourne Borough.

Hinshelwood commented: “It wasn’t expected at all but maybe that’s just a bit of naivety from my point of view because ultimately he’s a Swindon player who’s performing brilliantly and scored 11 goals in the first half of the season.

“He’s played in a variety of positions. He’s scored some incredible goals. It’s been a pleasure to watch him play.”

In total, Aguiar has made 130 appearances for the Rebels, scoring 28 goals. In his first spell with the Reds, he amassed 95 appearances having made his debut in 2018, aged just 17.

The gifted midfielder went on to win both the Manager’s Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season awards in 2018/19, before retaining Manager’s Player once again in 2019/20.

The 22-year-old left Woodside Road for Wiltshire in the summer of 2021 and his made debut as a late substitute in the Robins’ 2-1 defeat at Carlisle on 14 August.

The club would like to thank Ricky for all of his efforts during his loan spell at the club and wish him the very best for his future career.
