Worthing first played Hampton on 21st August 1971, when we drew 2-2 at Woodside Road in Athenian League Division 2; Keith Cook and Russell Penticost scored our goals.

We most recently met at the Beveree in this season’s National League South away fixture, on 24th October, when Danny Cashman scored our goal in the 4-1 defeat.

That three-goal deficit is Hampton’s largest winning margin in these encounters: we also lost 4-1 in Middlesex in 1987 in Isthmian League Division 1, and have lost 3-0 three times.

Our largest winning margin in these meetings is also three and we have achieved this twice, in 3-0 league wins: the first time was the return league match in 1971-72, and the second time came in Isthmian League Division 2 in 1993.

One other match to mention is the home Isthmian League Division 1 match on 14th September 1982, when we had to play at the Dripping Pan in Lewes because our ground had been closed by the league, owing to the state of the pitch.

Since 1999, our opponents have been known as Hampton & Richmond Borough. They are one of just five clubs that we played in four different divisions of the Isthmian League.
