The appointment will be key in helping the club transition into a full-time operation, working closely with Football Director Nathan Bowen and First Team Manager Chris Agutter in a move to expand and enhance the club’s football operation.

Shan’s role is to oversee all football departments and ensure that their performance levels are maintained at the highest level possible. Shan will provide administrative and operational support to enable Nathan and Chris to focus on football strategy and delivery.

Nathan explained, “Progression is of the utmost importance at this football club and Shan will play a key role in allowing us to transition into a full-time operation. The club has been heavily reliant on volunteers in the past but this appointment will help to create a more professional environment as the club works to become National League ready”.

“Shan will play a key role in identifying where we need to be better, on and off the pitch and in having a long-term plan and project that we have to put in place to help us get to where we want to be”.

“His experience is exceptional and he will challenge us in the right manner to help maintain high-performance levels and to give everyone clarity of what is needed to achieve what we are aspiring to achieve”.

Shan brings plenty of experience with him to the role having worked in the same role at Harlow Town FC between 2016 and 2019 before becoming Head of Academy Operations at Chelmsford City FC in 2020.

His most recent job in football was as General Manager at Bishops Stortford where he oversaw day-to-day operations for the best part of four years.

Shan commented, “I’ve had lots of really positive discussions with Barry & Nath over the past 6 weeks. They’ve got really exciting plans for the club and I am super excited and honoured to join the project.

“Hopefully I can play my part in helping the club transition to a full-time environment and assist with making sure all football aspects are operated and performed in the most professional way possible”.
