The 22-year-old joined the club in late February after leaving Scottish Championship side Queens Park and went on to play a pivotal role in his side’s run to the National League South play-off final scoring four times in 12 appearances, including the final itself.

Incoming Reds boss Chris Agutter has been quick to extend Spong’s time at the club, tying him down to new terms that will keep him part of the squad next season.
