It’s the third of six pre-season fixtures for Chris Agutter’s side, who earned their first pre-season victory last week against Chichester City.

Danny Cashman scored a well-taken goal to give his side the lead at the start of the second half but they were pegged back by the Lilywhites with five minutes to go. The Rebels found the winner soon after though, as one of the four trialists found the back of the net late on following Rocco Gamblin’s good work to win the ball back high up the pitch.

Tomorrow’s opponents Lewes finished 8th in the Isthmian Premier Division last term, missing out on the play-offs by 9 points and level on points with Agutter’s former club Hastings United who finished above the Rooks on goal difference.

The most recent meeting between the Rebels and the Rooks was a memorable one, when Jesse Starkey’s late strike from distance earned the Rebels all three points on their way to promotion in March 2022.

Jesse Starkey celebrates his goal at Lewes in 2022.
