Worthing suffered disappointment on their travels at Truro to bring the bank holiday weekend to a close. Chris Agutter’s side conceded four second half goals on their way to a 5-0 defeat in Cornwall.
Their run of six-straight away matches to start the campaign comes to an end this Monday after another double header of away trips coming up this weekend. After Hampton on Saturday, the Rebels travel to Boreham Wood on Monday night.
After four games so far, the Rebels have picked up five points and they currently occupy 18th position in the league table.
Team News
New signing Temi Babalola is available and could make his debut for the Rebels against one of his former clubs in Hampton & Richmond.
It was announced in the week that Tyrese Owen has left the club following a mutual termination off his contract. Outside of that, besides Cameron Tutt, Chris Agutter has a full squad to choose from for the trip to Beveree Stadium.
View from the Camp – Chris Agutter
“It should be good. It’s an opportunity for us to get last Monday out of our system and we’re looking forward to it.
“Hampton have recruited well over the summer. They’ve gone in a different direction and brought in a few younger lads that played at step 3 and step 4 and are hungry to climb up the football pyramid.
“They are a dangerous opponent. I know a lot of their players having seen them during my time at Hastings. They’ll be a handful and it’s going to be a tough test”.
The Opposition
Under the stewardship of Alan Julian this season, Hampton picked up their first win of the new campaign last Saturday against Salisbury.
Most recently, they faced Bath City on Bank Holiday Monday and were beaten 1-0 at Twerton Park.
They currently sit level on points with Worthing having played an extra game.
Previous Meetings
In the league meetings between the two sides last season, both teams won their home matches. Hampton & Richmond ran out 4-1 winners at the Beveree Stadium in October last year and the Rebels were 2-0 winners at Woodside Road back in April.
The sides have met 16 times in total and Worthing have won seven, drawn three and lost six.
