The Rebels returned to winning ways last time out as they edged past Hampton & Richmond in a five-goal thriller at the Bev. After falling behind some 20 minutes in, Chris Agutter’s side got back on terms just 6 minutes later when Danny Cashman finished off a superb team goal.

Five minutes into the second half, Tommy Willard gave his side the lead but they were soon pegged back when Bunmi Babajide found the back of the net for the hosts. In a dramatic encounter, the Rebels got back in front less than five minutes later as Glen Rea headed home from a corner. Rea was later sent off for time wasting but the ten-man Rebels held on to secure all three points.

After five away matches, the Rebels have picked up 8 points, which currently has them sitting 13th in the league table although having played a game less than most of the other teams in the division.

Team News

Captain Joel Colbran will be missing for a short while after picking up an ankle injury in training last week. The defender missed Saturday’s trip to Hampton and boss Chris Agutter confirmed that he is likely to be out for a couple of weeks.

Aflie Young will also be missing for tonight’s trip to Meadow Park as he serves his one-match suspension.

The Opposition

Following relegation from the National League last season, Boreham Wood have made a positive start to life in the National League South, having picked up 11 points from six matches.

They will be looking to return to winning ways tonight, though, after dropping points in both of their last two matches. An away defeat on Bank Holiday Monday at Salisbury was followed by a 1-1 draw at home to Maidstone just two days ago.

Previous Meetings

You have to go back to the 2006/07 season for the most recent meetings between the two sides. Boreham Wood completed a league double over Worthing that season.

Worthing haven’t beaten Boreham Wood since December 1994 when they were 4-0 winners at Meadow Park in the Isthmian League Division 1.

Travel & Parking

By Road: Leave the M25 at Junction 23 and take the A1 towards London. Then leave the A1 at the first turn off and take the A5135 towards Boreham Wood. Continue along the A5135 towards the town centre, going straight across at the first small roundabout and at the next large roundabout, take the second exit onto Brook Road (signposted Boreham Wood Football Club). Then take the next right into Broughinge Road and the ground entrance is down on the right.

There is a car park at the ground, but this is only for players and Club officials. A few minutes walk from Meadow Park is the Brook Road ‘pay and display’ car park, which typically fills up quite quickly. The car park is free after 6.30pm and on Sundays.

Please be aware that in the streets around the stadium, a residents only parking scheme is in operation, so please check lamp posts for warning signs of this before parking up.

By Rail: The nearest railway station is Elstree & Boreham Wood which is located just under one mile away from Meadow Park. The station is served by trains from London St Pancras and Luton.

As you come out of the station entrance bear left and walk up to the main road. Turn right into Shenley Road and proceed along the High Street, until you reach a small roundabout. Turn left at the roundabout into Eldon Avenue (there is a McDonalds over on the right of this road). At the bottom of Eldon Avenue turn right into Brook Road and the entrance to the ground is down on the left. The journey from the station should take around 15-20 minutes.
