Worthing come into the contest off the back of a disappointing draw against St Albans City last time out. Chris Agutter’s side had the lead for the majority of the game against the Saints but were pegged back in injury time through Shaun Jeffers’ late equaliser.
Following results in midweek, the Rebels have dropped just outside of the play-off places to 8th, but they’re just four points off league leaders Torquay United which shows how congested things are at the top end of the table!
Team News
Chris Agutter hopes to have Joe Cook back available this weekend, although it remains a doubt whether he will be able to play a full 90 minutes. Tommy Willard could also make a return to the squad following a thigh injury he picked up a few weeks ago at Farnborough.
Nicky Wheeler continues to play through a slight knock, while Jack Bates has returned to full training following his illness.
Alfie Young is one that will definitely miss out tomorrow afternoon. The defender picked up a knock against St Albans City last weekend.
View from the Camp – Chris Agutter
“We’ve got to keep trying to build momentum. It will obviously be a tough game, they’ve picked up of late so it’s going to be a real challenge.
“At home, in front of a positive Woodside crowd where we’ve built good momentum, we look forward to the challenge.
The Opposition
After a difficult start to the season, the Towners have seen a bit of an upturn in form of late having picked up four points from their last two matches. Former Rebel Jake Hutchinson bagged a brace to help his new club beat Tonbridge Angels ten days ago and they followed that up by picking up a point on the road at high-flying Weston-super-Mare last Saturday.
They will play their fourth successive away match at the Sussex Transport Community Stadium tomorrow, before playing host to Boreham Wood on Boxing Day.
Gavin Macpherson’s side are currently 22nd in the league table and four points from safety.
