The Rebels are fortunate to be preparing for a Fourth Round match in the Isuzu FA Trophy. Last time out in the competition, they were beaten on penalties by Gosport Borough, who have subsequently been removed from the competition for fielding an ineligible player in the round previous. As a result, Worthing have been reinstated into the competition which sets up tomorrow’s Fourth Round tie against Torquay United.
Aside from the penalty shootout defeat to Gosport Borough, the Rebels have been on a good run of late. Chris Agutter’s side are unbeaten in their last six league matches, winning four and drawing two.
The run of form has seen Chris Agutter’s side climb to 4th in the National League South, but standing in their way in the FA Trophy tomorrow afternoon are the National League South leaders, who are unbeaten in their last 13 matches in all competitions.
Team News
Chris Agutter will again be without Tommy Willard who remains sidelined with a thigh injury, while Alfie Young remains out for an extended period with a knee injury.
Harrison Smith has returned to his parent club Stevenage following the end of his loan.
View from the Camp – Chris Agutter
“We’re looking forward to the opportunity of playing Torquay. The game down at Torquay was one of the best games I’ve been involved in this year – I thought it was brilliant.
“Obviously, they’re top of the league so it’s a good reference point for us to see where we’re at. If the game down at their place is anything to go by, I think it will be incredibly competitive.
“I think we owe them one a little bit because it’s another one of those games where we left points out there. So we’re just looking forward to the opportunity.”
