It was a disappointing result for the Rebels in midweek as they lost for the second time in the space of three games.
Farnborough took the lead just 10 minutes into the contest on Tuesday night, through their captain Ollie Robinson. Mo Faal struck an equaliser moments later, but Worthing fell behind once again on 20 minutes as Johnny Stuttle scored what proved to be the winning goal.
It is a result that has impacted Worthing’s promotion challenge somewhat, with the Rebels now sat in 4th, still four points behind the league leaders Dorking Wanderers, but now with only two games in hand.
Team News
It’s more or less as you were for midweek in terms of the squad’s availability this weekend. Sam Beard will serve the last of his three-match suspension, while Nicky Wheeler remains a doubt after the knock he picked up last Saturday against Salisbury.
It remains to be seen whether Danny Cashman will return to the squad, having been rested in midweek.
View from the Camp – Chris Agutter
“If we produce that same level of performance, with that lack of energy, enthusiasm and intensity, without the willingness to run and do the ugly stuff, we can forget about doing anything this season.
“Ironically enough, we got beaten by Farnborough before and then went on that long run which got us into the position that we’re in, so we’ve got to try and repeat that.
“They’re a very different team to the one we played earlier this season. They’ve recruited really well and they’re in a much better head space so we expect Chelmsford to be a bit more on the front foot and be a bit more aggressive and expansive than what they were at Woodside.”
The Opposition
Chelmsford are currently 11th in the league table and are 11 points off the play-off places at this moment in time. They have been on a good run of late, picking up 10 points in their last six games and are looking like one of the teams most likely to make a late charge for the play-offs.
They were beaten in midweek away at Boreham Wood, but last Saturday, they came from two goals behind to defeat Torquay United at home.

At the second roundabout where there is a Tenpin Bowling Alley and a Volkswagen Dealership located, take the first exit towards the Widford Industrial Area. Keep on this road for around a couple of miles where you reach a T-junction with the A1060 where you bear left and then turn left again at the traffic lights (still on the A1060) towards Sawbridgeworth. Go through the next set of traffic lights (with a public park on the left) and at the next set turn right into Chignall Road. After passing a zebra crossing, turn right at the modern-looking church into Melbourne Avenue. You then will pass another park on your left and just before the tall block of flats, turn left into Salerno Way. Then at the mini-roundabout turn left onto the stadium approach road.
There is a car park at the stadium which is free, however, it normally fills up quickly. There is plenty of street parking available in the surrounding streets.

There is a taxi rank at the side of the station otherwise from the street outside, you can catch any of these First Buses No 54, 56 (towards North Melbourne) or the No 40 (towards Broomfield Hospital). See the First Group website for current timetables. To walk to Melbourne Stadium from the railway station, should take around 30 minutes.
