The Rebels made it five-straight league wins last Saturday as they brushed aside Hemel Hempstead Town, winning 3-0 thanks to goals from Danny Cashman, Temi Babalola and Liam Nash.

They extended their lead at the top of the National League South to four points with the victory, as Truro City fell to defeat at Enfield Town.

Chris Agutter’s side have an important week coming up, as they play their game-in-hand on Tuesday night at Hornchurch, following this Saturday’s trip to Welling United.

Team News

Chris Agutter has confirmed that, other than the long-term injuries to Alfie Young and Taylor Seymouth, his squad has a clean bill of health.

Glen Rea returns from a three-match ban, but Joe Cook is suspended for tomorrow’s trip to South East London.

View from the Camp – Chris Agutter

“We were very good last weekend. We played very well, it was one of our best performances of the season. The only disappointment would be that we didn’t convert the chances that perhaps the performance deserved, but it was a really good day at the office.

“We just need to keep going. We’ve got a big week ahead of us, but they’re all big weeks. We’ll prepare as we normally do and we’ll go into the game against Welling confident, but equally respectful of the fact that they will be fighting for their lives and we’re going to need to be at our best to put another three points on the board.

The Opposition

Welling are currently 22nd in the league and are eight points adrift from safety, with seven matches to play.

They’ve had a difficult period of late, having gone winless in ten matches, picking up just three points in that time.

Rod Stringer left his position as First Team Manager following last Saturday’s defeat to Farnborough and Brian Statham has taken over as Caretaker Manager. He took charge of his first game on Tuesday night where they fell to a narrow defeat against Hemel Hempstead, who scored an injury-time winner.
