The 33-year-old is available for selection in Chris Agutter’s squad to face Hemel Hempstead Town this afternoon, after the defender signed his contract earlier this week.
Racine decided to hang up his boots in January last year, after suffering an ACL injury which kept him out for the majority of the 2023/24 season.
Less than six weeks after announcing his decision to retire, Racine returned to Worthing as the Interim First Team Manager, following the departure of Adam Hinshelwood to York City. Racine, along with his fellow interim staff Dean Hammond and Darren Budd, guided the Rebels to the play-off final, where they fell agonisingly short in extra time against Braintree Town.
Racine has continued to play a key role behind the scenes at the football club, having been part of Agutter’s coaching staff this season.
He has been getting back up to speed lately, having been training with the first team squad, and has now put pen to paper on a playing contract until the end of the season. He will continue his coaching duties alongside his new playing role.
Racine will wear the number 28 shirt for the Rebels.
