Tomorrow serves as the first opportunity for fans to catch a first glimpse at all our summer recruits. Six of which made their unofficial debut for the Club last Friday, as the Rebels fell to a 3-0 defeat to a Brighton & Hove Albion XI at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre.
Anointed Chukwu was ruled out of last week’s friendly with a slight knock, which prevented him from appearing for the first time as a Rebel.
Latest recruit, goalkeeping Seb Stacey, who’s joined on a season-long loan from MK Dons is also likely to feature.
Our second pre-season friendly will be followed by another home test next weekend against Chatham Town. We then visit Havant & Waterlooville, Lewes and Hastings United before rounding off our pre-season schedule by hosting Braintree Town on the first Saturday of August.
Preparations are now in full swing, as Chris Agutter’s side gear up for another campaign of National League South football. With the fixtures being released on Wednesday afternoon, the players will be fully focused on building up their sharpness for the opener against Bath City at the Sussex Transport Community Stadium on Saturday 9th August.
Opposition
Premier League outfit West Ham United will be sending a predominantly youthful side down to Sussex as their Development Team gears up for the new season.
Former Rebel Brad Dolaghan will not feature for the Hammers following his release last month. The forward signed for West Ham in August last year after an eye catching end to the season in a red shirt, scoring in five consecutive National League South fixtures.
