The 19-year-old recorded her maiden appearance for the Rebels in our first pre-season friendly of the summer, a 3-2 home defeat to AFC Portchester. Grace sustained a minor injury during the encounter, but is aiming to return to action the foreseeable future.
Our newest Rebel is the epitome of a modern day centre-back – comfortable in possession and able to depend upon her blistering pace to avert dangerous situations.
Despite her tender years, Grace has already gained experience higher up the pyramid. Whilst on the books at Portsmouth U23’s, the teenager featured in the Championship for the senior team against Durham.
Prior to her time at ‘Pompey’, the defender played for London City Lionesses where she made her debut in the second tier aged 17. She marked the occasion with an assist to equalise against Watford.
Jesus Cordon spoke on Grace’s arrival, ahead of our FA Women’s National League Division One West opener away to Portishead Town this Sunday (2PM K.O).
“Grace is a fantastic addition to our squad. All I needed was one conversation with her to know how good she is as a footballer and as a person. She is young but she will be a leader in the changing room and her attitude and commitment is amazing.
“She was unlucky getting injured in the first pre-season game but as soon as she is back she will show her potential.”
Welcome to Woodside, Grace!
