National League South Sat 30 August Woodside Road
Worthing
Maidstone Utd
15:00

Our first encounter with this opponent ended with us recording our largest winning margin in these encounters, when we won 5-1 at Woodside Road on 17th December 2011. Our goals in this Isthmian League Division One South fixture were scored by Tom Manton, Luke Gedling, Steve Davies and Mike Huckett (who scored twice).

The away fixture that season, which was played at Sittingbourne’s Bourne Park ground, ended 0-0.

The following season we again won at home, 2-0 this time, then travelled to Maidstone’s current ground for the first time; in what was our first competitive match on an artificial pitch, we took a 2-0 lead but had to settle for a draw.

Maidstone United were promoted at the end of that season, and it was ten years before we met
again, this time in an FA Trophy tie played in Kent, which we lost.

The following season (2023-24), after their relegation, saw us meet in National League South for the
first time, and the away fixture ended 4-0 to our hosts, which is their largest winning margin in these
matches. The return match saw us repeat our record win.

At the end of the season, we faced each other at Woodside Road again, this time in the play-off semi-final, which we won 2-1 with a last-minute goal.

Last season we had our first away win against Maidstone, but lost the home match 2-0. Our latest
meeting came at the end of the season, on 30th April this year, when Maidstone defeated us 2-0 at
Woodside Road in the play-off eliminator.
