The First Round draw is one of the most hotly-anticated events in the English football calendar with approximately eight million worldwide viewers estimated to tune in, with the draw airing live on TNT Sports and the TNT Sports Official YouTube channel.
Alongside the famous numbered balls being pulled out the drum, the globally-renowned FA Cup trophy will be present at Woodside Road. The esteemed accolade will be securely transferred from our 1886 Lounge onto our pitch at the appropriate times, meaning all supporters will be able to cast their eyes on the domestic prize.
The draw precedes our FA Cup Fourth Round Qualifying tie against Robbie Savage’s Forest Green Rovers, who are the second highest ranked team currently competing in the world’s oldest and most prestigious cup competition. Despite their strong start to the campaign, Savage’s side have recently lost their unbeaten record to Rochdale, who in the process usurped the ‘World’s Greenest Club’ to top spot in the fifth tier.
Monday’s game will be broadcast live on TNT Sports 1, with kick-off scheduled for 7:30pm at the Sussex Transport Community Stadium.
Becky Ives is presenting the draw and pitchside coverage of the game, and will be accompanied by former Premier League footballers Michail Antonio and Joel Ward on the punditry panel. West Ham’s greatest ever goal scorer in the top-flight has embraced the microphone while he continues to recover from a serious leg injury, while Ward has entered the world of punditry after retiring from professional football during the summer. The full-back’s last act in the ‘Beautiful Game’ was lifting the FA Cup with Crystal Palace, as they edged out Manchester City in the last season’s final under the Wembley arch.
Adam Summerton and Lucy Ward will be providing commentary from our TV gantry in our newly -developed North Stand.
Due to the October international break, our clash with Forest Green Rovers is the only domestic game set to be televised in the entire country, drawing more eyes on an already mouth-watering contest.
Monday’s game is the third Worthing FC match selected for TNT Sports coverage, following our match with Bath City in the National League South and our Play-off final to Braintree Town at the end of the 2023/24 season.
