The Rebels are on the quest of clinching four successive victories in the league for the first time this season, with Hampton & Richmond standing in their way.
Interruptions have been at a minimum for the squad this week, with a clear week to prepare after a heavily congested schedule.
A platform for future success was constructed last weekend, as an accomplished display from the Reds yielded a 3-1 triumph over Dover Athletic. A cultured curling effort from Joe Cook opened the scoring, before Decarrey Sheriff emphatically volleyed in an equaliser for the Whites. Razzaq Coleman De-Graft restored the lead just before the interval, while Brad Dolaghan netted his seventh of the campaign to secure the three points at Woodside Road.
Team News
Matt Burgess has recovered from a dead leg and is available for selection this weekend. The midfielder has missed the last two matches after sustaining the injury against Chelmsford City almost a fortnight ago. Bailey Smith faces a period on the sidelines after picking up a hamstring issue in the early stages of our recent victory over Chesham United. New signing Tom King is also at Adam Hinshelwood’s disposal for tomorrow’s match in West Sussex.
The Opposition
Hampton & Richmond have struggled to arrest a slide in form which has seen them drop out of the play-off picture and plummet into 15th position.
A positive start to the campaign saw them emerge as one of the early pacesetters in the National League South, but the Beavers haven’t recorded a win since August and have fallen down the pecking order.

Five consecutive defeats in all competitions condemned them to a difficult October. They bowed out of the FA Cup at the hands of National League side Eastleigh, with Slough Town, Weston-super-Mare, Hemel Hempstead and league leaders Hornchurch also putting them to the sword last month. However, several of those teams listed are currently competing at the top of the table, with Alan Julian and his players facing a treacherous run of matches.
Hampton & Richmond have consolidated themselves as National League South regulars over the last decade, with that next step always proving elusive. They finished last season in 18th position, six points above the relegation zone.
The Gaffer
Former goalkeeper Alan Julian is overseeing his second season in control at Hampton & Richmond Borough. After initially being part of the backroom staff at The Beveree Stadium, the 42-year-old made the leap to management in the summer of 2024. He steered the Beavers clear of relegation last term, which earned him another season in the hotseat in the capital.
Julian’s association with tomorrow’s opponents started in March 2020, as he signed for them from Billericay Town. After four years of tending the goal, he decided to hang up his gloves and venture into coaching, where his tactical acumen has aided his evolution into managing the South West London side.

In total, Julian made over 400 appearances between the sticks during his career, with 75 of those occurring in the EFL. The shot-stopper was involved in the Northern Ireland youth set-up, being picked at U18, U19 and U21 levels, although he was never handed a senior cap.
One to Watch
Centre-back Charlie Sayers has rubbed shoulders with some of the world’s best footballers and has brought that experience into this Hampton & Richmond side.
As a 17-year-old, Sayers caught the attention of Tottenham Hotspur, with the Lilywhites swooping in for the teenager, paying an undisclosed fee to Southend United.
The defender was nurtured at Hotspur Way and he was even included in the the First-Team travelling squad for their pre-season tour of Asia under Antonio Conte. However, he never made a senior appearance for the Europa League champions and was released in the summer of 2024.
Spells in Scotland with Partick Thistle followed, before a stint with Woking. He embarked on a new challenge this summer and has settled in Richmond this summer.
