The Rebels are searching for an eighth successive triumph in all competitions to continue what has already been a rampant November. Josh Jeffries’ goal is yet to breached this month, spanning over 360 minutes.

On the weekend, a brace from Nathan Odokonyero helped his side trounce former employers Tonbridge Angels at the Yeomans Community Stadium. Elsewhere, Kwaku Frimpong opened his account for the club, while Brad Dolaghan netted his 14th of the season to complete a 4-0 win and book a spot in the Third Round of the Isuzu FA Trophy. The draw took place yesterday afternoon, where it was announced that Worthing will make the trip to Gloucester City on the 13th December.

The team hailing from Woodside Road are also looking to extend their run of clean sheets – with another shutout tonight stretching that record to five consecutive games with conceding a goal.

In the last round, Caretaker Manager Dean Hammond guided a rotated side to a comprehensive 7-0 victory over Sussex minnows Jarvis Brook. Dolaghan took home the match ball after scoring a hat-trick, with Odokonyero, Anointed Chukwu and Razzaq Coleman De-Graft also finding the net.

The Opposition

Newhaven will be attempting to execute a giant-killing tonight at the Trafalgar Ground. The Dockers enter the match with momentum, having won their last three league matches. An impressive away display against bottom of the table Lancing was followed up by a thrilling 6-3 victory over Lingfield before narrowly beating Pagham three days ago.

To progress into this stage of the competition, our third round opponents have already knocked out Forest Row and Seaford Town. With the home advantage in East Sussex this evening, they will be hoping to make the last eight of the County Cup.

Sean Breach’s outfit currently sixth position in the Southern Combination Premier Football League, although they trail league leaders Haywards Heath by 14 points due to their perfect record.

The Gaffer

Sean Breach rejoined Newhaven as First Team Manager during the summer for a second spell in the dugout at the Trafalgar Ground.

After stepping down as joint manager alongside Andy Cook in January 2025, Breach returned ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

The manager’s team is comprised of two coaches that guided Newhaven to nine straight league wins at the back end of last campaign, as Clive Blunt and Ryan Walton were appointed as Assistant Managers.

Breach stepped down at the start of the calendar year after over a decade in charge with joint-manager Andy Cook.  After less than six months away, both returned to work at the club in different capacities, as Cook rejoined as Director of Football.

One to Watch

Newhaven talisman Lee Robinson is the Docker’s all-time top scorer and has already bagged double figures this term.

The 36-year-old is idolised at the Trafalgar Ground and is regarded as one of the most potent finishers in the county.

During a 17-year career with Newhaven, Robinson has scored over 500 goals for the club. He achieved the milestone of five century goals back in September, netting the equaliser against Peacehaven & Telscombe in the RUR Cup.

The goal-machine will undoubtedly be licking his lips at the prospect of adding to his goal collection against higher-league opposition this evening.

View From the Camp – Adam Hinshelwood

“Momentum is a massive word in football. Winning games if obviously incredibly important and we want to keep that going. It’s not going to be easy -but we want to progress as far as possible in all the competitions we are in.”
