Jesus Cordon and his players are raring to get back to winning ways after suffering a second-round exit last Sunday to AFC Portchester in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.

The Spaniard is positive ahead of the game: “Obviously, we are excited about it, the team is
really looking forward to bouncing back from defeat.”

Worthing is currently at the bottom of the division, with four points, tied with Portishead Town, who are both four points behind Marine Academy Plymouth, sitting just above the drop. After some unlucky results, the Reds will feel they are due a victory at the table doesn’t reflect the level of performances.

Cordon stated: “We know we need the points in the league, we feel we have fewer points than we deserve, and the position in the league is not what we deserve. We are going to fight to change that game by game.”

The opposition, Keynsham Town, come into this fixture off the back of a big win at home to promotion-challenging Bristol Rovers. The away side will play with confidence after a commanding performance last time out. The player to look out for is Abigail Todd, who has already notched five goals this season, alongside two assists. She will be Keynsham’s main outlet, looking to disrupt the defence.

The gaffer on the opposition: “They come off a good win against Bristol, one of the strongest teams in the league. They are a team who will make things hard for us. We need to make sure we turn up and play a good game.”

Tomorrow is a great opportunity for Worthing to build momentum going into back-to-back league home matches, where two wins could see them rise back up the table.

JC: “‘It is vital to get three points tomorrow.”
