The fixture comes after a busy Easter period for the champions, playing twice in as many days on Good Friday and Easter Monday:
First, Worthing thrashed Carshalton by five goals to nil in their first game as league winners, before a short trip to the Camping World Community Stadium to face Horsham two days later:
Dajon Golding put the Reds 1-0 up inside the first ten minutes, but Aarran Racine’s dismissal after two bookable offences was followed by an equaliser from Lee Harding on the stroke of half time to draw the sides level at the break.
Horsham turned the game on its head with a goal from Lucas Rodriguez in the 65th minute, before a Charlie Harris strike three minutes from time ensured the Yellows of victory and denied Worthing the possibility of reaching 100 points going into the final game.
Meanwhile, visitors Brightlingsea secured their Isthmian Premier League status for the 2022/23 campaign with an impressive 3-0 at home to Haringey Borough, sitting safely in 18th place six points above the drop zone.
Recent meetings
The two sides met in the reverse league fixture in December of last year in Essex:
A brace from Ollie Pearce and a strike from Callum Kealy earned Worthing a comfortable 3-0 victory at a cold Taydal Stadium.
Supporter information
Final home fixture to be all ticket
Due to expected high demand the club has taken the decision in order to manage numbers responsibly to ensure the safety of supporters and maintain an excellent customer experience.
Tickets are available now and with an increasing number already sold supporters are advised to secure theirs early to avoid disappointment.
Admission will not be available on the day and entry will not be allowed for those without a valid ticket.
Although there will be no segregation of supporters at the ground, followers of Carshalton and Brightlingsea Regent are advised to purchase “away tickets”, giving the club the opportunity to make any necessary plans for any number of travelling fans.
For anyone who can’t buy their tickets online for games, we will be opening a ticket office at the club on Wednesday 13th April from 5pm – 7pm, in the bar.
Admission prices for both matches are as follows:-
Adult — £12.00
Concessions — £8.00
13-16 year-olds — £3
6-12 year-olds — £1
Under 6 — Free
The club is on course to smash it’s record for home attendances over the course of a season, with an average of 1,270 supporters attending the 19 league games so far.
The 2,000 mark has be surpassed on two occasions for the Sussex derby matches with Bognor Regis Town and Horsham on New Years Day.
That support has played a huge part in the teams success on the pitch, losing only two home matches in the league this season, amassing 49 points from a possible 57 in front of the Woodside Road faithful.
PLEASE NOTE: When buying your online tickets you will receive two emails.
1. Purchase confirmation email
2. Email with your QR coded ticket(s) attached.
We need to scan the QR codes on the tickets at the turnstile, so in the unlikely event that you don’t find an email with a ticket attachment or you are having issues opening the attachment on your phone, please contact dave@worthingfc.com to get the tickets re-emailed. Thank you.
Tickets are still available to purchase in advance online or on the day. The turnstiles will be accepting cash and card payments.
We request that all supporters remain off the pitch at the completion of Saturday’s game.
Per league rules, the club have a duty to the safety of players and officials and we must also protect the warranty on our new 3G pitch. This is incredibly important to us.
The players and coaching staff will be presented the Isthmian Premier trophy at approx 17.15pm and will complete a lap of appreciation to thank supporters for their first-class support throughout the 2021/22 season and share in our celebration. Unfortunately, should any supporters enter the field, the players will be asked to leave, which is a situation we really want to avoid.
We thank everyone for their cooperation and understanding and look forward to a wonderful celebration to cap what has been a fantastic season for our club.
Matchday programme
As always, our matchday programme, Woodside, will be available for £2 as you walk through the turnstiles. Another 28 champions’ special edition.
