The Reds are unbeaten in their last five matches in the Vanarama National South and come into the fixture off the back of a 1-0 home victory against Oxford City. The Rooks were held to a goalless draw at home to Cray Wanderers on Saturday and currently sit in 11th in the league table.

The two teams met in Round Three of last year’s competition with the Rebels coming out 3-0 winners at The Crucial Environmental Stadium after an Ollie Pearce brace and a goal from Callum Kealy secured a comfortable victory.

Last year’s Third Round victory was part of a cup run that saw Adam Hinshelwood’s side make the journey to the final of the competition, where they fell to a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Brighton & Hove Albion U23s at the AMEX Stadium.

The last meeting between the two sides was in front of a bumper crowd in the Isthmian League Premier Division, with the Rebels on their way to winning the league title. A crowd of 2,347 witnessed a goal apiece for Callum Kealy and Jesse Starkey as the Reds won 2-1 at The Dripping Pan.

Worthing supporters will be greeted by a familiar face in Lewes after Alfie Young joined the Rooks in the summer. Young played over 100 times for Worthing before leaving in October last year.

The home side are currently on an eight-game unbeaten run in all competitions, including a 3-1 win on penalties in the first round of the Isuzu FA Trophy against Chesham United.

Previous Meetings

Worthing came out on top in all three of last season’s meetings between the two sides.

The first of which was a nine-goal thriller at Woodside, with the Reds winning 5-4 in front of their home crowd back in October last year.

A more comfortable 3-0 followed in the Sussex Senior Cup in December at The Crucial Environmental Stadium.

While the last meeting was played in front of the biggest Isthmian League crowd of the season when the Reds won 2-1 at The Dripping Pan.

Team News

Joel Colbran and Lewis White are set to miss out on the clash against the Rooks as they both are still recovering from injuries while Javaun Splatt remains suspended.

The cup competition may give Hinshelwood the opportunity to ease in some members of the squad who are returning from injury.

New loan signing Mo Dabre is available for selection and could make his Rebels debut at the Dripping Pan.
