The Reds go into the fixture having had a week of recovery after their scheduled game away to Dover Athletic was postponed two hours before kick-off:

The home side failed to carry out a pitch inspection on the morning of the fixture, with the Worthing side and supporters making the 224-mile round journey, only to be greeted by an overnight-frozen pitch on arrival.

The postponement means Worthing’s last run-out was a 6-0 defeat to table toppers Ebbsfleet United on Tuesday evening at Woodside Road.

Meanwhile, visitors Weymouth make the trip from Dorset having thumped Tonbridge Angels by five goals to nil away from home, a result which took them off the bottom of the table for the first time since August.

Despite their lowly position in the table, the Terras as unbeaten in their last four league outings, amassing ten points in the process.

The Reds have had a tough run of fixtures, facing three of the top four teams in the division. Home defeats to Ebbsfleet and Chelmsford sandwiched the superb win at second placed Havant & Waterlooville.

Their first encounter came early in the season at the Bob Lucas Stadium. A flurry of chances at either end for both sides resulted in Joel Colbran putting the Reds in front at the interval, before a second half brace from Ollie Pearce gave Worthing a comfortable 3-0 victory.

The teams were then drawn against one-another in the second round of the FA Trophy at Woodside Road last month. It was the visitors which opened the scoring in the 10th minute through Keelan O’Connell, but two goals in as many minutes around the half-hour mark from Callum Kealy and Ollie Pearce saw Worthing go into the break with their noses in front.

Ollie Pearce scored his second and the Reds’ third in the 63rd minute, before Ibrahim Akanbi sealed the tie firmly in their favour despite a Terras’ consolation from the penalty spot from Brad Ash in the 88th minute, with the final score reading 4-2.
