A 3-1 win over Hemel Hemstead Town saw the Reds leapfrog Chelmsford City on the final day, while Braintree, who started the day in 6th, slipped a place after only managing a draw at Slough Town.
Chelmsford fell to a home defeat at the hands of Taunton Town, in turn missing the opportunity to take advantage of Oxford City’s surprise defeat at Bath and finish third, avoiding the eliminator round in the play-offs.
As a result the Clarets will not host St Albans City on Tuesday evening, for the right to face runners-up Dartford in the semi-final on Sunday.
Should the Rebels overcome Braintree there’ll travel to the RAW Charging Stadium to take on Oxford City, also on Sunday.
