The 21-year-old shot stopper arrives from Southampton following the injury sustained to his Saints teammate Josh Jeffries last Saturday, the extent of which is yet to be confirmed.
Wright has previous experience of playing in the National League South, having been on loan at Bath City earlier this season. He featured 12 times for the Romans, keeping four clean sheets. However, his loan spell at Twerton Park was cut short after he dislocated his shoulder during their encounter with Tonbridge Angels back in October.
Ollie has risen through the ranks at Saints since joining the club over a decade ago in the Under-10s age group.
The goalkeeper was a key part of the 2022/23 Premier League 2 Division 2 title winning side and made 15 league appearances. He also trained regularly with the first team in the 2022/23 campaign, accompanying them on a mid-season training camp and travelling with a handful of matchday squads.
On signing his loan deal, Wright said, “I’m grateful to be here. I think it’s a good challenge for me coming back from injury. It was unfortunate for Josh and I wish him all the best with his recovery. He’ll be back stronger, I know he will.
“This is the perfect loan move for me.”
“Transitioning to the first team here is the best thing for me. Worthing like to keep the ball and so do Southampton so this is perfect for me.”
Boss Adam Hinshelwood added, “He’s a big presence and comes with good recommendation from Southampton. Their last recommendation, Josh, wasn’t too bad! I thought he was excellent for us and will be a big miss and we wish him a speedy recovery.
“We felt it was a bit of a no-brainer to take Ollie when he was offered to us. He’ll come in and add competition at a valuable time.”
Ollie is available for selection for Worthing’s match against Weymouth tomorrow (Saturday, 17th February) at the Bob Lucas Stadium.
